AAPI PRESENTS
REV. ROBERT ROYAL IMPACT Award Scholarship
PURPOSE
The Rev. Robert Royal Impact Award Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Rev. Robert Royal, a dedicated community leader who fought tirelessly for the working-class families of Harlem. Rev. Royal was a champion for those in need, advocating employment opportunities, access to education, and the overall welfare of his community. His commitment to service included creating a free breakfast and lunch program for underprivileged children, ensuring that every child had the nourishment they needed to thrive.
This scholarship aims to support high school graduates who demonstrate a passion for community service and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others, just as Rev. Royal did throughout his life.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To qualify for the Rev. Robert Royal Impact Award Scholarship, applicants must:
1. Be a high school graduate planning to pursue post-secondary education (college, vocational school, etc.) in the upcoming fall semester.
2. Demonstrate a commitment to community service, particularly in areas that promote social change and help those in need.
3. Submit a personal statement (800-1000 words) explaining how they have made a difference in their community, how they plan to continue making an impact, and why they believe in the power of helping others.
4. Provide one letter of recommendation-one from a teacher, mentor, community leader or volunteer organization.
5. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.

AWARD AMOUNT
The scholarship will award one recipient up to $1000.00 to be used for tuition, books, or other educational expenses for higher education.

Applications for the Rev. Robert Royal Impact Award Scholarship are due by May 15th of each year. Statements can be mailed to AAPI Services, 1864 Clove Road, SI NY 10304

AWARD PRESENTATION
The scholarship will be presented at St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Harlem in honor of Rev. Robert Royal’s work and the ongoing impact of his legacy.

SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee which includes individuals who were directly influenced by Rev. Royal’s legacy. Finalists will be interviewed, and the scholarship recipients will be announced by June 1st.

By supporting students who believe in the importance of making a difference in the lives of others, we hope to continue Rev. Royal’s mission of positive change for future generations.
